Hard to imagine I know, but Knight Rider has been made into quite a few different formats!! First came the Spectrum ZX complex, looking at the dodgy graphics today and awful tacky music and sound effects.but this was what was fed to the egger fans of Knight Rider after the hit premier. This was the fans chance to drive the dream car and play the handsome crusader. The cover for the Spectrum game was very up to date for its time...leading me to think it sold a few copies just for that alone. The game came very much as standard like you would expect for an 80's computer console. But with a box cover like that shown below, it can be misleading. I would rate this game now as a very poor attempt at a Knight Rider Game though I understand they didn't have the technology back then, but it still leaves me thinking they could have done so much more to it. The dash was a little misleading from the original program (im sure K.I.T.T never had Scuds, though he had a laser for Trust don't Rust and K.I.T.T Vs K.A.R.R.) Overall if you were a major fan of the show I think you would be pleased with the game, those who were not a great fan would look at this as another adventure car game. In the same year, a Knight Rider game was released for the Amstrad, though I have not played this game but I can imagine it would be under the same vein of the Spectrum. Now there's the odd PC game. I have played this for a period of time and I have spoke to other players about this game and its year of production but its not known that much. When you first start the game it features Universal credits, stating © 1982. However this was also the year Knight Rider first hit our screens, and seems unlikely that this would be brought out that same year. If any of you have any information regarding this I will feature you in this section with your findings! After seeing the rather poorly looking graphics of 1986 with the Spectrum game, this gives you much more quality. That in mind may be because its a PC format game and the fact its been exclusively made for the Japanese market, thus giving the makers more time to see to better graphics being made. The game is rather good for its time, the graphics are top and the music is that of Knight Rider and is a good version again for its time. To sum it up, think of good old Out Run featuring a fast car reaching 300+ mph and that being a black Trans Am.That’s pretty much Knight Rider for the Pc (Though I must stress its allot better then that of the Spectrum)
